During the video lectures, when Prof. Dirk Hebel spoke about alternative building materials, I remembered a discipline that my undergraduate course (Architecture and Urbanism) offers. In this discipline the professor asks to students developing an ecohouse made of bamboo. In the end of the semester all students present the projects, including physical model, for the Environmental Education Center and Ecological Tourism. The best project is published in social media and receives a prize. I consider this discipline a wonderful way to encourage future architects to create new projects using alternative building materials, and share with citizens new ideas of successful housing with less aggressive materials. Below is the link of one winning project: [http://bamboo.ning.com/m/group/discussion?id=2576501%3ATopic%3A4378][2] Unfortunately, it is written only in portuguese.][3] ![digite a descrição da imagem aqui][4] [1]: http:// [2]: http://bamboo.ning.com/m/group/discussion?id=2576501:Topic:4378 [3]: http://bamboo.ning.com/m/group/discussion?id=2576501:Topic:4378 [4]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14297329059295458.jpg
