The project is truly an example of the globalized economy we are living today. The idea developed by Las Vegas Sands was developed by Engineering companies as Arup, Parsons Brinkerhoff and SsongYong, among others. The size and the design of this construction itself would be reasons for us to believe the materials used to raise 640 feet off the ground came partially from foreign lands. In spite of the national content, it is reasonable that part of the concrete, the steel and the glass came from other countries. The participation of European and North American engineering companies in the project could be a good evidence of the use of material from these countries. Furthermore, another possible source of construction material for MBS given its proximity to Singapore are Asian countries as China and Korea, which are large steel producers.
