The advancement of not only construction processes and material of construction, but the availability and access to the same as well as a desire to be part of the globalized world has led many developing countries follow the latest trends in the construction industry. The introduction of relatively new concepts to the developing world and the spirit of competition have also pushed the countries which are not equipped with the expertise or capability in making the imagined possible to import the skills and material for the building construction industry. The introduced concept of malls however, is a new addition to the modern city of Islamabad. The Centaurus mall in Islamabad, Pakistan is representing material, skills and expertise, contractors mainly imported. The architectural design, which is done by British architectural firm WS Atkins, while Interior Design of Mall have been designed by ODEION-Turkey, developers were Pak Gulf Construction, Tamimi Group of Companies (Saudi Arabia) and local builders. Being close in geographical proximity, availability of expertise and technical assistance and the willingness by Chinese are a few of the many reasons.
