On this picture, which was taken by me, we can see a new architectural project in Milan, Italy - two residential multistory buildings “Bosco Verticale" ("Vertical Forest"). This project, which was realised by architectural studio "Stefano Boeri Architetti", clearly shows us how current tendency of a globalized economy impacts on a local architecture. First of all, the buildings have an untypical height for Milan. One is 78 miters and another one is 111 meters. Commonly, such kind of buildings are located in megapolises, such as New York, Tokyo, Shanghai. The buildings contrast brightly against the low-rise buildings near them. This is a great example of how the modern trend of high buildings spreads and influences actively in the world. Secondly, the usage of green constructions makes these buildings very global. The question of how to improve ecological situation in the city is very actual nowadays. Almost every country in the world searches the best solutions for creating green buildings. Milan is not an exception. The city is rather contaminated. Thus, it needs many green zones. But the territory of architectural project “Bosco Verticale” ("Vertical Forest") was limited and there wasn't additional place for park. However, the architect decides to create a vertical park, which should be the part of the buildings. [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14356801609725883.jpg
