Schmitt Presser House, city of Novo Hamburgo, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil The House Schmitt Presser, exemplary of the nineteenth century half-timbered, was listed, acquired by the town and restored, with community involvement. Currently, it works as a community museum that tells the story of German colonization in the city. The building is the representative image of German immigration in the city, built with wall construction technique with authentic half-timbered wood trim fitted without the use of nails, with clay fill, is a European technique that was adapted to the local and well executed. I visited this house and it's really a sensational construction, the walls provide thermal comfort. Vernacular Architecture and Sustainable.
