In the photo the expansion of Hospital Pablo Tobon Uribe, one of the most recognized in Latin America, is going to increase its capacity by 100% in the emergency, surgery, transplants, etc. They had to cut down several trees in a green area for construction, but for every tree they have planted 4 more to minimize their environmental impact and be more sustainable. Steel and cement are the most used materials being produced raw materials extracted from around the region. In Colombia there is very little building material is imported.
