[1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14342682972018606.jpg This a photo taken at the entrance to the city centre of wellington. it shows an old timber house in the traditional construction and a new building right next to the old one. as such old buildings are more common in the town belt new buildings are more placed in the city centre. to mention is that quite a lot of new buildings have the same hight as the old ones. in this example it is just an old building with a new extention/facade. just the cbd is marked by higher office buildings. also materials are different from the old timber constructions. they are mainly consist of cement, concrete and some of bricks. timber is mostly a local material. there a a lot of cementry factories is nz. but i guess this facade is a foreign material.
