Liverpool, Upper Duke St. Although this photo was taken on a working day and working hour time, it still shows a building that has closed stores at ground level and closed windows at first floor. Plants are growing on bricks in several places. There are signs hanged on covered windows and graffiti work. There are no parking spots. Some cars are parked in front of the only opened shop. The upper windows show unorganized storage. And there is a car leaving at one door. 2- - From this photo A person can read that this building was either re-purposed to adapt to new city regulations, or that it was designed against the regulation which forced some measurements to enable the use. - The car leaving shows that the ground floor is now used as parking - The plant growing randomly shows that the building is not in a top situation and under bad management. 3- Focusing on the third point from the previous question: Once can say that the situation of the building is in question. This can lead to the possibility of the building being unsustainable and decaying. This can have effects on three levels. The first one is affecting the urban context by introducing a corrupting centre and negative spot that is polluting for the context. The second is affecting the health situation (mental or physical) of people dwelling, working or living there. The Third is economical effect by preserving a spot on a dynamic street that could be turned into a beneficial project. This knowledge supports the rehabilitation of the building or introducing new city regulations that brings this are back to life.
