The Lakefront in Columbia, Maryland has existed for about 30 years. This small section is becoming part of a 30 year plan that will produce a more urban setting with greater density. The invisible that is becoming visible is adding transportation, business, and housing infrastructure within walking distance with greater density. In order to maintain walkability and biking, paths away from the streets are being created and expanded. Rental bikes are going to be implemented to provide alternatives to driving to local areas.
