This photo is taken at one of the urban area in Hong Kong. The visible information from this photo is that city development in Hong Kong is toward high-density living. It is residential towers of at least 35 storeys high constructed next to each other. We could also see in glimpse behind those building are mountains. That suggest that the reason why the high density living is because of flat-land scarcity throughout the country. The invisible information that could be gathered out of such area is the occupancy rates of each apartment, the income level, car ownership and travel pattern. If such information could be made visible, then the need of mass public transportation can be determined. The mode of the mass public transportation can also be determined. For simple example, if the peak demand of public transportation is in the range of 20,000-60,000 pphpd, then buses, street car, tramway, light rail transport can be sufficient mode of transport. If the peak demand is more than that, then the heavy rail mass rapid transportation would be a more appropriate choice. [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14302962235815433.jpg
