1. This picture represents one of the main squares of The Hague, NL - Plein. It is a public space that contains many invisible informations in itslef, even though first it just attracts attention because of beautiful sight. 2. When we look at the picture we see some objects that will further tell us more than we see. Bicycles, undeground road, the statue and high almost skyscraper type building in the background. Let us have a closer look at the statue - the invisible information we can get is first of all historical, which further leads us to modern patters. The statue always atracts attention, it is in the middle, it is a place of gathering - it has always had these functions and still posseses them. From the historical perspective we can understand what is happeing on the square now and what it is used for and most importanlty what else can be done with it. Other additional elements such as the road, bicycles, cafes - all tell that it is very lively, interactive and oftentimes used public space. Second invisible information can be seen from the skyscrapers on the back. Though the forefront is constructed of more traditional segments, the background provides us with modern patterns. The skyscrapers show that the city is used as a business hub as well, otherwise these types of buildings would be unneccesary. It also shows that there is a clear division between modern part and, what would the observer call, touristic part of the city. This is also interesting in terms of values and city planning developments. 3. The historical-modernity use of city, the invisible information, further allows us to develop more ideas on the planning. The additional elements tell about the habits of population (interesting point here is the absence of people on the square), what type of transportation is prevailing and develops connections between different classes of area, activities. The square shows that the city allows for active use of public space within already established traditional patterns - as it is empty. It also reveals some limitations again linked to the hitorical issue - we should take into account the material that is used in construction etc. so we do not destroy the existing sight, but enhance it sustainable. In general the invisibility of historical-modern fusions of The Hague is important for urban planning actions in the future. [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14321507905915721.jpg [2]: http://
