FC-01x Future Cities (1st Run) - Exercise 1 : "Making the Invisible - Visible"

[1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14302725854783576.jpg This is a turistic city called Ribeirão Pires, near to São Paulo - Brazil, this city contain three important basins river. 1- "Visible information": - Natural resources like: a dam that provide water to the region, abundant vegetation of Atlantic Forest. - Exclusively residential neighborhoods with a lot of vegetation between them, with low density and low height. - Irregular topography. - Depopulated spaces. 2-"Invisible information": - Fauna and Flora in this abundant vegetation. - The water way through the topography until arrives in the dam. - Insecurity caused by lack of diversity and dynamism that a restricted residential area offers. - Low number of habitants. - Air with better quality and lower pollution levels. 3- "Invisible information - knowledge" We can conclude that it’s not a well developed city, because the low number of habitants, the restricted use of territory because environmental reasons. But in the other hand, with higher quality life. But there is a problem: the city needs to increase the density and improve the economy to offer better conditions to live, with dynamic, safe, pleasant and used places. With a careful survey and register of environmental resources, water paths and zoning, we can understand how the city works with its flows, and then propose actions to diversify the uses respecting the environment.
