This is the city of Purral, in San José Costa Rica. The picture was taked by me from the entrance of my house. It is a marginalized city, it is mainly residential and it has a population of 26 696 inhabitants according to a national survey made in 2011, this population lives mainly in informal housings. The invisible information that this picture provides, is the lack of good public transportation, poor public infrastructure, lack of good public spaces and services, as well as oportunities for the inhabitants of the city. Also there's a little bit on gentrification noticable in the nice residential built next to the slums. This city is a result of a rapidly growing development in the perpheral areas of the capital San José, and a consequential abandonment of residential in the central area.
