As you can see we have hills and rivers. The visible are mixed use area of the Southside, the Birmingham Bridge crossing the Monongahela River, a redeveloped area slicing across the middle of the photo and above it buildings in Oakland including Carlow University. Part 2: two invisible pieces of information are the population density on the Southside and the number of commuters crossing the bridge. Part 3: Looking at the number of commuters crossing the bridge-This could be done via a counter but would need to include passengers in cars. Is there such a mechanism?- otherwise just the number and types of vehicles-cars,trucks, buses, bikes. This information could be used to determine traffic flow pattern changes, modified lane usage or closures making the commute into downtown Pittsburgh, Oakland and Southside better.
