1) On this central street in Rotterdam (the Netherlands) we see at least four modes of transport implemented: tram, car, bicycle and pedestrian. We see a CCTV and/or traffic control monitoring system. We can also see that unique architectural design of buildings and thought-out urban planning is implemented (i.e. to a non-specialist eye it looks "nice"). Finally, from the banners and logos we can see it is a business part of the city, with small part of a commercial area visible in the right side of the picture. 2) First, the city respects relatively high efficiency of transport: there are several modes of transport and cameras monitoring the traffic that may contribute to low traffic congestion visible on the photo. Secondly, good urban planning can be inferred from the overall look of the city landscape visible on the photo. 3) Better traffic regulation improves the comfort, safety and speed with which city dwellers travel. Having information about volume, direction, type of traffic, etc., may help build better infrastructure in that area. For example, learning about strategic locations for tram stops and bicycle lanes where they would give the most positive impact. [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14292074155581452.jpg
