Cal Anderson Park - Seattle, WA
FC-01x Future Cities (1st Run) - Exercise 1 : "Making the Invisible - Visible"
Uploaded on 2015-06-15 by Gabriel-Bello
Visible Information: - Ample room on a Saturday afternoon at this park - Plenty of shaded and unshaded areas to choose from - there is cell phone reception (assuming the two people are using their service) - this park has lights for night time - this park is well maintained and liter free Invisible Information: - The amount of cell reception - When I sat down, the grass made me itch which only happens if there have been shedding of dog hair. So I could assume there are dog owners that come to this park. - there is one person with long sleeves and pants and another with their shirt off. It is hard to tell what the temperature is outside just from the photo. - Overall air quality (CO2, NO2,etc.) are unknown as well. Extended Explanation: - I am a bing believer in exposing air quality, especially in parks. This park is pretty removed from high traffic and it would seem that it would be good air quality. Regardless, I would like to have a map of the park that has micro data, through sensors, gridded over the site every 5 feet. With this information we can see if there are areas (i would assume near the streets) that grass could be replaced with air cleaning plants to make up the difference.
