FC-01x Future Cities (1st Run) - Exercise 1 : "Making the Invisible - Visible"
Uploaded on 2015-06-16 by Riqk
1) The most prominent visible information that can be seen in this picture consists of all the physical security measurements that are taken. In front a big gate closes the perimeter for unwanted access. In the back a yellow ram barrier hinders cars to pass. And of course, the presence of police officers show the importance of protection of the location. 2) Out of the visible information, some invisible information can be abstracted. First of all one could assume that this is an important location. Furthermore, because of all the protective measures, there will also be (in)visible surveillance cameras present. The importance together with all the visible measures could create an image of fear of terrorist attacks in the minds of normal city dwellers or tourists. 3) The fear created in the minds of ordinary people because of all the security measures could contribute to more "user friendly" methods of protection a valuable asset. Protection measures that are more tacit for regular people, or maybe subliminal in its message towards possible perpetrators. ![Downing Street London][1] [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14344443031731479.jpg
