Uploaded on 2015-04-19 by ERIC_LOI
Location: RWS (Resorts World Singapore) Sentosa, Casino Entrance Question 2: Identify and present two "invisible information" that can be extracted out of the visible information of this photo. 1. The meta-information (tied to bio-data) on the numbers and profile of casino patrons. Reference information: Under the gaming regulation in Singapore, all foreigner visitors to the casino has to produce their passport and valid immigration permits (e.g. Visit pass, employment pass etc) for registration before entering the casino. All locals (citizen, permanent residents) have to register and pay an entrance fee. This is to discourage locals from patronising the casinos on a regular basis. (Its $100 for 24 hours access) 2. The patronage and distribution trends of local versus foreign patrons. Question 3: Select one of your choices from the previous question and describe how this invisible information can become knowledge and contribute to the planning of a more liveable urban space. The trend analysis from information point 2 provides 1. A quantitative visual of whether the “discouragement” policy is effective in its objective. 2. It is useful for law enforcement as a source of investigative information 3. Last but not least, it’s to provide potential visibility of potential gaming addicts for further awareness to their family and friends. Reference information: there is currently a gamers registrar that can be self-declared or by their immediate family to bar a local individual from entering the 2 casinos in Singapore.
