In my opinion what you call "making the invisible visible", consists basically in making an analysis of spatial data, data that are gatered with precise temporal and spatial references, that's what i can see from the examples given in class 3 Is it not equally possible to do the same thing by analyzing a static picture, but I can try to do some useful reflections: In this photo is obvious (visible) the dominant typology and style of construction, the presence of the sea, the historic buildings: Christian Churches, the ruins of industrial factories and urban spaces in a state of neglect, little presence of unstructured green plants. Instead what can be inferred or rather assume (invisible) is that tnx of the climate, the green spot and architectural style (such as the presence of balconies) is a Mediterranean city. In addition there are not sloping roofs demonstrating that there are no snowfall. It is also not a Muslim City being absent minarets. I suppose taht the maritime trade and fishing are developed as well as boating. While there is not a strong industrialization, so you can imagine that the economy is based mainly on trade, crafts and tourism. The substantial uniformity of architectural aesthetics suggests a booming housing in the second half of the last century, and a substantial stop in the last decades. A useful information ( using the knowledge) in order to assume an improvement of life in the urban area is that the presence of the sun and the availability of many flat roofs could suggest the installation of photovoltaic solar panels for the production of clean energy available at low cost for the citizenship.
