1. In case of a disaster (or disruption, in this case - you can see it under the bridge far away, right side of the picture), there are no alternative escape ways. 2. Due to the increasing construction of buildings, there will be more people needing transportation to get to (and from) their working place from (and to) their living places. For me is more important to analyze and focus on the need of having more routes in case of an emergency than anything else. It's visible that the cars had to go in the wrong way to try to evade the disruption on the right lane (far right side of the picture), generating traffic disruption and affecting movility in the case of particular cars; also can be seen that BRT works perfectly even when there is traffic right near to it's side. What would had happen if there was a bigger emergency? Having no alternative routes on a fast lane can have also an impact on the city inhabitants, worsening any emergency event. ![Calle 26 (26th St.), Bogotá, Colombia][1] [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/1429981111415771.jpg
