This picture was taken in Kyiv (Ukraine). Building, that you can see here was built in 1809; it`s located in the center of square and is considered to be one of the most valuable landmarks of this part of city. Now it`s in stopped reconstruction process, because of citizens protests. Visible information : 1.Old building, that was left in unfinished reconstruction process beginning to be ruined by environmental conditions (you can see the wet corner in the top center) 2.Parking, transport and pedestrian flows are mixed and non-organised. Invisible information: 1.City government is unable to cope with finding compromisses between investors and citizens. They settling projects without any social surveys and, when process has already began - people gathering to protests, and government is forced to stop any construction works. As usual processes are stopping there in a half of a way to nowhere. 2. Citizens of Kyiv are tired of new shopping malls in the city centre, and of their developers, who don`t have respect to the historical buildings and neighborhood . I think it leads to the conclusion, that every time before construction/reconstruction processes firstly social data must be collected and analyzed, as: what people are need right there; what they think of value of building, if it considered to be reconstructed; what they think of future of this place etc . It`s the only right way to find compromises and to increase the quality of place. [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14300807907259372.jpg
