Gothenburg is an intermodal logistics hub and Gothenburg harbour has access to Sweden and Norway via rail and trucks. Gothenburg harbour is the largest port in Scandinavia with a cargo turnover of 36.9 million tonnes per year. Naturally, it plays the major role in sea transportation and logistics. DFDS Tor Line runs ships between Gothenburg and several English ports. There are also freight ships to North America and East Asia. http://oi61.tinypic.com/9uolfb.jpg http://oi57.tinypic.com/3reaw.jpg **People** Immigration to Sweden became one of the most discussed topics in the country. Sweden happens to be the second most preferred country for immigration caused by recent war conflicts mainly for countries of Middle East and job seeking immigrants. The economic, social, and political aspects of immigration have caused controversy regarding ethnicity, economic benefits, jobs for non-immigrants, settlement patterns, impact on upward social mobility, crime, and voting behaviour. As the Swedish state does not base any statistics on ethnicity, there are no exact numbers on the total number of people of immigrant background in Sweden, but the ration is now estimated that more than 14% of inhabitants have with non-swedish origin, which makes the final number around 1,33 million people. This also causes the emigration flow of Swedish people to Norway, mainly because of higher wage considering that the assimilation and integration of swedes in Norway does not meet any difficulty because of the similarity of culture and language. Impact - Population of Gothenburg metropolitan area is expected to raise in next 5 year from 974 000 to 1,5 million people. There are several new projects focused on new urban planning of the city, because it’s clear that the spatial capacity has to change radically within short period of time. **Waste** More than 99% of all household waste is recycled in one way or another. The city has gone through something of a recycling revolution in the last decades, considering that only 38% of household waste was recycled in 1975. Today, recycling stations are as a rule no more than 300 metres from any residential area. Most people separate all recyclable waste in their homes and deposit it in special containers in their block of flats or drop it off at a recycling station. http://oi57.tinypic.com/29pzpjd.jpg About half of all household waste is burn and turned into energy. Reusing materials or products means using less energy to create a product, than burning one and making another from scratch. Households keep separating their newspapers, plastic, metal, glass, electric appliances, light bulbs, batteries and food waste. And all of this is reused, recycled or composted. + one more example of Stocks and Flows in smaller scale - bike sharing system in Göteborg http://oi60.tinypic.com/23r7qm1.jpg
