According to the 7.3 Video: it is not appropriate to list people as other stock and flows in the city. But they have similar attributes. I would identify people as stocks and flows in three different perspective. Looking at Liverpool as a touristic City and a city that hosts a football team with wide base of fans. It can be noticable in streets that during football seasons that there are a lot of visitors coming to the city. Liverpool is considered the 5th most popular destination in the UK for all domestic visitors (1.68m overnight visits). It is also 6th for pure holiday trips (703,000). Thinking about people who already living there as stocks and others who are visiting as flows. Measuring these changes during the year can provide knowledge and insights about the transportation and occupation of buildings and hotels. This can have tremendous effect on the city economy. Also on the other hand according to this flow which is coming from http://www.centreforcities.org/ : ![Liverpool Immegration Flow][1] [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14327459685658331.png Liverpool as a city is faceing great immegration of people. This can be identified clearly by great numbers leaving to London. Again thinking of people who is living and settled there as stocks and people immegrating to other cities as flows. This can provide measures for immegration levels within cities across the United kingdom. Also the future population of these cities. And with more careful mesurments; It is possible to idenitfy measures that provide and make the city more sustainable. Finally Thinking of Liverpool as an educational city that is hosting the University of Liverpool. And knowing that the city has a twinning relationship with Shanghai, China. It is noticable that there are Major population of chinease students whitin the university campus and the city. This is affecting the urban culture and the society texture. and It is even noticable how quiet the city gets during summer holiday and bank holidays. Thinking of the students as flows that is feeding the city during the academic semsters. these can help identify the measures needed to be taken to provide sustainable city for these flows without interferring with the stocks that are the people who are living permenentley there.
