Stocks & Flows: - Number of university students, - Number of cars, - Number of bars. The city of Thessaloniki can be characterized as the "student" city in Greece. The city hosts four (4) public universities and a myriad of private schools and academic institutions, thus attracting a large number of students form Greece and the Balkans every year. Estimations point that every year around 120,000 university students live in the city of Thessaloniki. Students are a major flow in the city of Thessaloniki, thus affecting the livability of the city, the traffic, the local economy, the cultural activity and the regional environment. Normally, students seek for studios to live during their studies, they seek for facilities to eat, relax, do sports etc. Nevertheless, no structured plans/places have been, thus far, articulated for the city to host this large number of students and sequentially benefit from their presence. For example, there is not any structured region with studios and student residences in Thessaloniki that can provide all the facilities that a student needs. This hinders the entrepreneurial activity and the growth of the local economy. ![Aristotle University campus][1] [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14342912021538809.jpg
