1- Water: Cairo is divided by The River Nile which is the longest river in the world (6,853 km) into two sides, West and East. The High Dam was built in Aswan in 1970 to control the flow of water. Before the dam were built, the River Nile flooded every year during late summer, when water flowed down the valley from its East African drainage basin. These floods brought high water and natural nutrients and minerals that annually enriched the fertile soil this had made the Nile valley ideal for farming since ancient time. Because floods vary, in high-water years the whole crop might be wiped out, while in low-water years widespread drought and famine occasionally occurred. As Egypt’s population grew and conditions changed, both a desire and ability developed to control the floods, and thus both protect and support farmlands and the economically important Egyptian cotton crop. With the reservoir storage provided by the Aswan dams, the floods could be lessened and the water stored for later release. 2-People: Cairo is one of the most famous touristic cities in The Middle East and tourism is one of the most important parts of Egypt’s economy. Approximately 14.7 million tourists visited Egypt in 2010. At its peak the sector employed about 12% of Egypt's workforce as well as contributing more than 11% of GDP and 14.4% of foreign currency revenues. After the Egyptian Revolution, The total number of tourists in egypt was declined by 25% as it reached Approximately 4.4 million tourists in 2014. That huge loss in tourism sector affect the population of cairo as most of the employers in the sector of tourism start to migrate outside the country to find new jobs, about 10 million Egyptian workforce is working outside the country now. 3-Food: After the Egyptian revolution in 2011, Egypt started to suffer from the lack of petroleum products, that had a huge effect on the country’s energy production. The problem started to affect the food industry in the whole country, specially in cairo where most of the food factories are located. A lot of factories started to close, and that was the main reason to increase the amount of the food exported from outside the country. a new industries as solar and wind energy was introduced to the Egyptian market to solve this huge problem that affected the whole food industry in the country.
