The Subarnarekha river that flows through the city of Jamshedpur contributes in a big way to this industrial city. Tata Steel which was started in 1907 along the banks of Subarnarekha, because of the close proximity of resources needed for steel-making is the company that built the city of Jamshedpur. The city which is built around the plant, is fed by this river. Drinking water is extracted via a treatment plant at the upper course of the river. Also, waste of the industry and of the city are let into the river after proper treatment at a lower course. The image also shows a railway bridge, that brings in resources like milk, vegetables into the city and takes away steel manufactured here. [1]: http://i.imgur.com/XZatj3L.jpg
