**1. Tunnels** ![Elevado do JoĆ”][1] By the highly accidented geography of the city, the option for crossing it by tunnels was present since ever given its practicality and efficiency, despite its costs to the natural heritage. The tunnels are a huge stock for the city, representing 19,5km divided in 25 tunnels, connecting east to west and north to south, which make it nr.1 city in tunnels in Brazil. For the passengers, the series of tunnels represent a mix of pause in the surrounding landscape and can surprise with another breathtaking view. **2. Waves** ![Copacabana Beach sidewalk][2] The crashing of waves on the beaches combined with the constant wind makes the city a perfect stock for practicers of radical sports and ventilates the coast of the city a welcome "maresia", the blend of sea wind and its smell. It is so important that turned into an immortalized symbol for the city on the sidewalks, inspiring specially many artists. Next, the crucial connection between the three items: **3. Touristic economy** Bigger than a boost in economy of the city, the touristic economy is a reflex of its natural landscapes and cultural life. 40% percent of incoming flow of tourists (2.8 million tourists/year) in the whole country have the city as its main destination, not decreasing even in the winter. **Benefits from improvements of presented stocks and flows:** Tunnels could be turned into big air filters though one region to another, inverting the tendency nowadays (tunnels have terrible air condition) and energy suppliers with the wind made by the vehicles' transit. The sea could have the tides utilization in order to produce energy and recover old sea transportation lines to improve the urban mobility. The tourist economy must be oriented into an cultural exchange, like the technology transference, for example, and it's sure that with the sympathy of the native people it wouldn't be difficult to achieve.
