![][1] People Without people the city wouldn't function. It is the needs of people and the movement around the city that create a living city. In Brisbane people tend to flow from the suburbs to the city for work and then back out to the suburbs. This creates traffic problems and loss of productivity. **Food** ![enter image description here][2] Food People need food. There is is a constant flow of food into the city from many different parts of Queensland, Australia or the World. There is a large variety and fruit and vegetables tend to be seasonal so the stocks and flows will change throughout the year. Food is very plentiful and a lot is wasted. **Water** ![enter image description here][3] Water People cannot live without water. Water is transported through a network system from dams away from the city. Brisbane has a drought and flood cycle that can dramatically effect water levels. In 2008 there was a severe drought that meant we had severe water restrictions. In 2011, we has some of the worst flooding seen in decades. All of these important factors could be effected by better information on how stocks and flows exist within the city. Wasted food and water could be managed better and used for other purposes. Peoples' movements are starting to be better recorded this information can create better transport systems.
