---------- A representing view of Stocks and Flows of People, Land and Energy. It is taken from an under construction site at national capital region of New Delhi. ---------- In the Suburbs of Delhi, India's national capital region there are several satellite towns such as Noida, Gurgaon, Ghaziabad. The most important Stocks and Flows are People, Land and Energy. ---------- Stocks and Flows of people played very important role in (de)shaping the city, as migrants from different part of the country come for the search of jobs and business and they settle in city pockets as per their income. ---------- The increasing flows and stock of people led authorities to increase stock of land available at fringes and in neighbouring states, over the period a flow of land or space is observed to accommodate the stock of people. ---------- The increased stock of People and land results in increasing demand for Energy hence importance of Flow of energy came to picture to run the city smoothly. For example Power demand in increasing at the rate of 8-10% annually. ---------- The ever increasing stocks and flows of these objects are putting enormous pressure on city's infrastructure and city administration often not being able to run smoothly their day to day operation, in order to manage one stock, they loose focus on other and hence it gets out of control. e.g. power or energy stocks and flows are unable to fulfil the demand of the city and the city gets power cut more often than ever. ---------- A solution could be found if we model and simulate city to analyse redistribution of stocks like people and land and can see what will be its effect on energy. Also by adopting energy efficiency measures we can reduce the flow of Energy and will be needing less stocks and flows to generate. So, there could be a quality improvement in the life of the people if their requirement of energy would become less and city would be able to supply this reduced demand uninterrupted.
