Oil & Oil product imports. **Where are the dominant fossil fuels mainly used for in your country?** They are mainly used in the industry an for non-energy uses. **3. It is your task to create a new policy in order to improve the environmental friendly and sustainable sources and consumption of energy of your country. How would you do that? Think of how you can improve the sources and the consumption of energy.** Research & Development: Research in new ways of energy saving and consumption of energy. Targeting and Goal Setting: Setting aside a new set of goals to reduce energy consumption by a significant amount by a particular year. The policy can target to increase the amount of national green volunteers by approximately 5000 per year. Engaging & Educating the public: Encouraging & educating the public and industries to support energy saving methods and the usage of renewable energies (i.e. solar energy) in their ways of living (i.e. technology or objects utilized in daily life). 'Eco-friendly' Campaigns: Eco-friendly campaigns can be launched for mass engagement to promote the use of greener resources in daily life. The promotion of the 3R values can be publicised in Singapore, namely, Reduce, Re-use and Recycle. Residents and the general public will be encouraged to use biodegradable goods, services and products, over those that are non- biodegradable. 'Eco-friendly' practices on Water: The general public will be encouraged to select water supplies with the 'water efficiency label' so that they may save water and electricity at the same time. Encourage the use of Fans over air-conditioners: The general public can be encouraged to use fans over air-conditioners. Provision of more Recycling Bins: The provision of more recycling bins in public areas, such as gardens, parks, shopping malls and offices should be made more readily available, to encourage the general public to recycle their resources, for better environmentally friendly living. This helps to increase the recycling rate, at not only the national rate, but also at the domestic and non-domestic rate. Encourage the use of 'Eco-smart' public transportation: The new policy can encourage the general public to better utilize the public transport, such as buses or trains over privatised cars. The public transportation produces less carbon emissions into the atmosphere. The general public will be advised to take other more environment-friendly modes of transportation and travel, such as by bicycle or walking, driverless cars, and vehicles that are powered by solar energy. Penalties: Penalties can be imposed on consumers who over-consume the energy that may be detrimental to the environment. Introduction of more vegetation: Vegetation can be introduced in the form of parks, rooftop gardens and greenery. ![enter image description here][1] Building in Singapore incorporating greenery in its architecture.
