People (tourists, commuters, students), vehicles (tubes, taxi, buses, bicycles), money, energy and buildings are the key stocks and flows. 2. Describe your findings based on the concept of stocks and flows by presenting the necessary information or examples. Tourists entering Oxford Street are a prime example of flows as many arrive from other London neighbourhoods to enjoy the shopping centre of the city. Additionally, tourists will be more present during high seasons. While London commuters will fall into the category of stocks, commuters from outside London will participate will create a daily flow. Similarly, vehicles as well as money and energy will be split between stocks and flows. 3. Imagine and shortly describe how these stocks and flows could change in the future for the benefit of your area. The flow of individuals and vehicles in London, and especially in the Oxford Street area, is a critical issue. Individuals and vehicles are directly responsible for congestion, CO2 emissions, air pollution, etc. Improved transportation (frequency, higher number of bicycles lanes) would lead to a less polluted city centre as well as to safer environment.
