**1. People** Citizens, tourists, students, workers,... Madrid is the capital city of Spain and that is one of the reasons why there is so many people arriving, staying or leaving the city. Citizens could be considered stocks as they stay and live in the city and are a permanent asset of the city itself. Tourists are a constant flow that come and go during the whole year and contribute to the economy of the city. There are many students like me that come every year to Madrid to study a career because it exist many different possibilities as this is the capital. That´s why many students decide to come to Madrid during the school year and come back home for holidays, becoming a constant stock and flow. And talking about workers, there is a daily flow of people coming to the city to work as they live outside the city because of the high prices or the stress of the city. To sum up, stocks and flows of people is something typical from big cities or capital cities and it´s very important to identify and understand them. For the future, I think it is important to decrease the travelling time and increase the transport´s frequency to improve the quality of life of the people arriving and leaving Madrid. ![enter image description here][2] **2. Architecture & Art** Museums, exhibitions, buildings,... Madrid is a city full of art and there are some vey important museums located in the city centre like El Prado Museum, Reina Sofía Museum or Thyssen Museum, among many others. There is a constant flow of important paintings, sculptures, exhibitions, operas, theatres,... coming to the city, staying for a while (becoming a stock during that time) and leaving again to another destination. These flows enrich our city and give us the opportunity to enjoy them. The architecture of the city, its historical buildings, the art inside the museums,... are a stock that stay in the city and everyone can admire and enjoy, both citizens and tourists. In my opinion, in the future Madrid should go on with its initiatives and only improve the accessibility to some historical buildings that right now are not allowed, for everyone to enjoy them. ![enter image description here][3] **3. Vehicles & Goods** Planes, cars, trains (AVE - Hish Speed Trains), buses,... Madrid is the hub of many of the flows of people and goods travelling around the country and arriving from other countries. Barajas airport has become a very strategically located point for people travelling around the world and a constant flow of planes arrive and leave from the city every day. There is also a daily flow of workers´ cars and public buses arriving at the city in the mornings and leaving it at noon. Besides, all the High Speed Trains network has its hub in Madrid Atocha and it has become a key point of flows coming and leaving everyday or passing by to another destination. I believe that the best change Spanish transport can make for the future to benefit Madrid is to create a direct link between the different kinds of transport (as already exist between Atocha and Barajas T4).
