Oil is the second largest import in North Dakota and the primary export. Huge trains come through our area from the oil fields constantly, and continue throughout the state; an estimated 30,000 galloons of crude oil is stored in just one train car. Soy is the third largest import, and this is made evident by how large the grain elevators are here in our town and neighboring towns. Farming, especially soybeans, is one of the largest industries in this area. And finally, Bobcat Loaders are produced here in a large factory, and comprise the state's third largest export. Because they are produced here, this stock does not necessarily come into the area, but it does flow out of the area. The stock and flow which is most susceptible to change in this situation is Oil. This resource is nonrenewable. When it runs out, the industry and surrounding economy will change dramatically. It is hard to predict whether or not this will benefit the area, but it seems an alternative resource would be better for the environment, and hopefully create an industry and an economy with a more sustainable system and a more permanent stock. ![Black Oil Tanker going through the next town.][1] [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14317999655556255.jpg
