The photo shows the Marina Bay Sand in Singapore, an integrated resort and iconic landmark. The designer himself, Moshe Safdie being Israeli, Canadian and American brings a cosmopolite eye in the heart of South East Asia. Historically, the region was using traditional and localized materials like timber wood, brick and stone, thatch roofs or even mortar and plaster made out of sea corals suitable for tropical environments. Today, Marina Bay Sand represents a $8 billion giant made out of commonly used materials in developed countries; sand, concrete slabs and trusses, steel, and glass facades.
