Currently it’s in a process of modernization and development, encouraged by the growing numbers of tourists each year , and by the growing population that settled here. First of all we can see the contrast between the old buildings , and the new taller buildings . The older ones are predominately inhabited by older people who settled here many years ago when the town was significantly smaller , while the newer buildings are inhabited by younger people and function also as offices for different firms , or as small travelling agencies. Therefore the contrast between generations and development is quite obvious. The visible information is presented by looking at the road system , the buildings or the electricity cables infrastructure. The area is part of a town that predominantly lives out of tourism , thanks to the close proximity of the sea. Therefore the area next to the beaches is it considered the urban center of it , partly because it has a good infrastructure , but mainly , as we learned in the previous lesson , because it is the most visited part of the town. Therefore my living area is currently developing thanks to the close proximity to the urban center. When it comes to the invisible information we can extract two aspects by looking at the visible one : The first one can be the statistical information of age groups that inhabit the area and the second one can be the classification of urban density. The classification of urban density provides a good indicator of what part of the neighborhood is the most populated and extending with the fastest pace. From this information we can extract the knowledge necessary to invest in the infrastructure of this growing area and therefore accommodate the needs of a growing and developing population. The classification of urban density can give us the data and therefore the knowledge necessary to help the areas of the neighborhood that suffer when it comes to modernization and growing of the population , and help us mentain the grow of the areas that are currently developing in a good pace.
