Uruguay is the only country in Latin America that has achieved almost total coverage of access to safe water, with coverage of 97% of the population, 100% in continuous service. Uruguay has one of the largest water reserves in the world, the Guarani aquifer, shared with Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay, coverage of 1,200,000 km2 and a capacity of 40,000 km3. Although the main source of drinking water is the St. Lucia River (60% of the population), which also has the conditions for fishing and navigation. Among its tributaries 200 streams are recorded and over 1000 glens. ![WATER][1] **FOOD** Uruguay ecosystems provide conditions for food production, in this case, the feed for the livestock sector, Uruguay is a leader in high quality meat products produced. The export-oriented agricultural sector contributed to 9.3% of the GDP and employed 13% of the workforce, the meat and sheep farming in Uruguay occupies 59.6% of the land.
