The green building is the National Theatre, the white in the corner is the Casino, the yellow one is the Alcaldia, or City Hall. In front of the Alcaldia there is the Cathedral, and between them the Park. Alcaldia-Park-Church is the typical centre of any colonial town. The space defined by those *Institutional and Social Infrastructure* is cool, always social animated and has a big role for the identity of the citizens and the city itself. Why this picture? Because I would *add* this to the statement above: "*Social* health infrastructure are crucial dimensions for the design of the future sustainable urban systems and the human habitat" In our times we complain about the abuse of social networks (Information Sociology?), but if we think about the *physical* possibilities to meet, in the new exploded cities remain only the shopping malls. The roads are too big and busy and the residential blocks not well connected. As Humans, we *need to meet* and we *need spirituality* as well; commerce is not enough even if we don't like churches any more. Large social events, like for example a town fair or a concert, attract people from the surrounding territory and has huge impacts over all the other infrastructural systems. In my opinion, to take care by planning of Institutional and Social Infrastructure would also be a dominant element to increase the quality inside the Future Cities.
