Here is a picture of a wooden house with steel roofing. ![enter image description here][1] While a lot of wood for construction comes from inside of my state, America itself does not produce all of of its own steel, importing much of it instead from other countries like China. In this way, the steel roofs in my town are part of the globalized economy. Recently, here has been a surge in steel imports to America. Some people find this worrying, because they're concerned that steel workers within the country will lose their jobs as buyers turn their attention overseas. Others find the steel imports beneficial, because the imports deliver good steel at lower prices. source of picture: Me source of extra information about steel: http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB10001424052702303277704579344852685727292 [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14137335619151382.jpg
