![Construction in Myrtle Beach 2007][1]![enter image description here][1] This photo, which I took in April of 2007, shows a large building in the early stages of construction. In this photo, the materials that make up the framework of the building can be clearly seen. It is obvious that there is a lot of concrete, which is most likely encasing steel rods. Metal framework for the exterior walls can be seen on the lower floors, but not yet the upper floors. Another material that can be seen is wood, in the wooden railings on the protruding sections of the buildings. It is possible that all or some of these materials were imported from foreign countries. If not from foreign countries, most of these materials probably came from other parts of the U.S. since Myrtle Beach, South Carolina is not a major industrial area (it is beach town that's economy is based mainly on tourism) so the manufactured steel, concrete, and other components must have come from elsewhere. However, the wood could be locally sourced, although this is somewhat unlikely because while Myrtle Beach has plenty of trees, there is not a large scale logging industry in the area. The large crane used to construct the building as well as the chain link fence surrounding the construction site was also probably made up of parts that came from different countries or from different parts of the U.S. [1]: [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/141436120976274.jpg
