It is a city that used to live mostly from fishing, so the houses were very close to the sea. In this area people originally used to build their houses using stone, with small windows. They were not tall, mostly two-storey and the distance between the buildings was very small, which protected the inhabitants of annoying sea wind. Nowadays, the concrete and steel as well as prefabricated elements allow people to build bigger and bigger buildings, with more and more stories. Furthermore, imported prefabricated elements also allow you to limit the costs of construction. Another element of modernity, which is a contrast between the old and new constructions are large panels of glass in steel frames. This makes interiors plenty of natural light, while the old buildings were dark and gloomy. Moreover, thanks to the development of the road network and public transport people can build further and further from the original center of the city, and thereby further from the sea – so the distance between buildings can be bigger, because the wind is not as strong as in the immediate vicinity of the sea.
