In my picture you can see the scaffolding, made of bamboo, a product that is pretty local (I presume) in China and Hong Kong. The scaffoldings are in contrast with all the other apartment and office buildings in this Hong Kong street. They are made of concrete, steel and other building components of a globalized economy. In general, Hong Kong is a typical example of 'globalized component' constructions, which is common sense in modern architectural designs of the last and present century. Modern components made it possible to design architectural shapes that would be very difficult to make with local components in many places of the world. It certainly would be nice of the art of building bamboo scaffoldings would not disappear. http://www.scmp.com/news/hong-kong/article/1186476/why-hong-kong-last-frontier-bamboo-scaffolders ![Hong Kong scaffolding][1] [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14176926767113932.jpg
