The above two Images were taken in Chennai,India during 2010. The Tidal park is a corporate building made in Concrete, Steel and glass. The below two images were taken in Himachal Pradesh, India,during 2011; below-left image shows how the locals houses are made in locally available material like timber and stone. These structure are designed and materials used based on the climate and earthquake risk in the area. The upper floor that is inhabited by people is made in wood providing comfort temperatures inside and resisting outside cold. On the other hand the stone masonry provides earthquake resistance and solidarity to the structure. This typology of structure are ethnic to Himachal Pradesh and not found anywhere else in India. The below-right image shows the new construction happening in the hills of Himachal. These are massive structures made in concrete, steel and are fast covering/cutting across the hills.
