City of São Paulo, Brazil. 11/05/2014 Even though Brasil is a huge steel producer, many aspects of brazilian construction, especially in big buildings, are clearly not native, consequences of globalized economy in building construction. Constructions machines, for example, are usually brought from China and Korea. Other than that, technological materials, such as modern window panes, cooling systems, light systems, photovoltaic panels, etc, are also imported. In this picture, for example, we can see a comercial skyscraper made basically of steel, concrete and glass. I can't affirm that the glass wasn't produced in Brasil, but I know that, in order to keep the building's temperature acceptable (we have longs periods of hot weather in Brazil), probably many imported technological equipments are being used.
