![Edificio transparente - guillotine windows][2] This building is called "the transparent building" because of its facades that are all in glass allowing to see inside and outside. Although the materials are common on Portugal, glass and steel for the frames, the technology is very advanced, in particular the frames on the top right of the first image (with detail on the second image) which have a specially developed technology called guillotine window, which has a very special opening system. (you can view how it function here although the original on the pic are manually opened but the panels move in the same sequence: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xgaj8PDKJvM ) This technology was imported from a company based on France that was contracted to make this special frame for this particular building showing how construction is a globalized economy. Furthermore most of the raw material for the frame was imported form aboard. Only the glass was probably produced in national territory but was bought from a French company.
