The two architects Jean Nouvel and François Fontès have designed the “Hotel de Ville” de Montpellier. Although to build it, there was used a lot of steel, but the city of Montpellier wanted that the building should be sustainable and contemporary.The material was gained in France itself but also from countries in Southamerica. The big advantage of this building are the sun sensors, which are situated on the roof and on the South side of the building and produce a lot of electricity which the city is using every day.
