Picture of the Dockwise Vanguard moored at the Holland Amerikakade in Rotterdam, the largest heavy-load ship in the world. To me, a provoking picture, as one can imaging that the buildings in the back just got delivered by the ship. The first operation was the transport of a offshore platform from South Korea to the Gulf of Mexico, a trip of aproxx. 20.000km The deadload of the ship is 117.000 metric tons. That is equal to mass of the CN tower in Toronto, Canada. (Sources: Website dockwise, wikipedia) The frontier of globalized economy of building construction.
