[1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14173434427221668.jpg The photograph shows an office building with glass facade on a central avenue in Athens, Greece. Although Greece is self-dependent on steel, cement, porcelane and wood to some extent, glass for use in the building industry comes primarly from abroad, imported from countries such as Italy, France, Belgium, UK, Russia and Israel. However, structural glass is subjected to domestic process, installation, maintenance and study. Note that buildings with extensive surfaces of glass are completely inappropriate for the greek climate: the plenty of sun makes them behave like a greenhouse, demanding a vast amount of energy for cooling or heating.
