In this picture you see the main hall of the new Hauptbahnhof (central train station) of Vienna. The official opening was less than half a year ago. The construction lasted several years and is now near completion. The main train station has 5 roofed platforms - 10 platform edges, which are elevated above ground. This meant an enormous amount of steel and concrete has to be used. The company responcible for the steel construction of the roof is Unger Steel Group, an Austrian placed company with locations based in Central and Eastern Europe as well as the Middle East However, i want to also point out the digital screen above the hall. Nowadays digital screens are becoming more present in the permanent built enviroment. These screens tend to be assembled not only in one country, but different parts of it are designed put together and redistributed all over the world making the entire process of construction even more globalized than before.
