[1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/1413926843133061.jpg Mexico is an important producer of a great variety of building materials, but there are also specialized materials that are imported, and some of them are less expensive than local materials. The picture in this post is an apartment building for a medium-high socioeconomic target market. The principal materials are traditional concrete, steel, gypsum that are manufactured in Mexico. Some globalized material includes: - Glass: Fabricated in China. Glass is fabricated in Mexico, but for this project it was a less expensive material. - Elevators: Fabricated in Spain, and assembled in Mexico. - Lamps: Imported from the United States, and surely fabricated in another Country. There a lot of other materials from companies outside Mexico, but are manufactured locally, like electrical transformer, electrical equipment, pumps for hydraulic systems, etc. Locally we have no problem in obtaining the majority of the building materials. And if we are in a hurry, we can get then through the United States (we are just south the international border from the United States).
