As seen here, most of the recent constructions in the city are using glass and metal (like aluminium) as their major building material. These materials dominate the facades of almost all the commercial, corporate and mixed use buildings in the city. This is an impact of the globalized economy and technology. People are using these materials just to make the building look attractive and modern not considering the economical local materials and also the need to choose materials that respond to the local climate. The city might appear global in its image and appeal to a wide range of public temporarily but care should be taken not to lose the local character and flavour.
